The Rundown: Curtis is determined to bring his former mentor down by any means necessary.
With his suit’s power running low, Curtis is determined to stay in the fight to rescue his friend and confront his former mentor Alva. At the same time, allies are working to find a way to back him up both with their fists and with information that could bury Alva.
As Alva looks over his assured victory, he finds himself surprised not only by his determined prisoner, but by Curtis’ guile and intellect. A miscalculation that will bring both men together in a tense standoff that one of them might not survive.
The Story: Thomas brings this arc home with great action, adventure and tension. Everything in the story felt like it was moving and you felt yourself being taken on the journey along with the characters. I love one of the messages in the story that comes through in the fact that Curtis can’t do it alone. I also really enjoy the determination of the character and how it never overshadows his intellect. I can’t wait to see what’s next.
The Art: Cowan offers some brilliantly intense and gorgeously detailed art on every page. The art style is perfect for the intense action and adventure of this series.
