The Rundown: Curtis Metcalf is on the run from a crime he didn’t commit and he has his sights set on the man who framed him.

After an experiment goes wrong, Curtis is the one blamed for it and the authorities are on the hunt. When they track him down to his lab, Curtis has to use his newly developed tech to both escape the building and destroy it. With the authorities trying to kill him, Curtis thinks back on the events that led him to this moment as he makes his way to the man responsible.

At the same time, the man who framed Curtis waits for the man to arrive. As more forces work to keep Curtis from his target, the man and his tech let his former boss and mentor know that this is just the beginning.

The Story: Thomas crafts an action packed story with some great character moments that serve as a way of bringing new readers into the story. Having the story told from two different points of view is a great way of fleshing out the narrative and giving context to the action and emotion. There is tension an immediacy on every page of this issue and the pace keeps you engaged and invested.

The Art: Cowan does brilliant work with the art in this issue. There is a gritty, dark element to the art that perfectly matches the story and draws you in visually with the action and danger.
