Unwelcome falls into the ever-popular genre of a creature feature horror. Maya and Jamie move to rural Ireland, thinking they’re starting a new life of tranquility and safety, only to discover there are malevolent creatures living at the bottom of their garden. Director Jon Wright and writer Mark Stay were inspired by films such as Gremlins and Straw Dogs and the terrifying concept of a home invasion, during which someone (or something) is in your home and there’s nothing you can do about it.
Coming to AMC Theaters’ Thrills and Chills Lineup March 8 and Digital March 14.
