One of the stars of the award winning musical Hamilton is joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
According to Deadline, actress Renee Elise Goldsberry has been cast in the upcoming Marvel Studios She-Hulk series coming to Disney Plus.
The Tony and Grammy Award winning Goldsberry has been cast as a character named Amelia. Goldsberry joins Tatiana Maslany as the lead in what’s being called a legal comedy from Marvel Studios. Ginger Gonzaga has been cast as She-Hulk’s best friend in the series which will also see the return of Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner aka Hulk and Tim Roth returning as The Abomination.
Goldsberry originated the role of Angelica Schuyler on Broadway in Hamilton and has also starred on series like Altered Carbon and Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist. She was recently cast in the Peacock comedy Girls5eva opposite actress/singer Sara Bareilles.
She-Hulk will be directed by Kat Coiro and Anu Valia, with Jessica Gao serving as head writer.
