Few plot details have been released for the upcoming Showtime series based on the video game series HALO, but one has been released that should give fans hope.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Showtime series has put out a casting notice (that THR obtained) will feature a live action version of HALO’s main character John/ Master Chief. The notice describes the character as “a Spartan-like warrior of large build.” The description opens the door for some interesting casting possibilities, especially since the character’s face has never been revealed.
Another character slated to be featured on the series is Dr. Halsey. Featured in the games Halo: Reach (2010), Halo 4 (2012) and Halo 5: Guardians (2015). Dr. Halsey is the creator of the SPARTAN-II program which creates Master Chief. The casting notice calls for an actress between the ages of 55-65.
There is currently no premiere date for HALO, but production is slated to begin in Budapest in the summer of 2019.
