The Rundown: John Stewart decides to take on the Revenant Queen at the heart of her power.
Shephard discovers the Book of Oa and while it doesn’t have any information on the Revenant Queen, he does discover the truth about the dark star that John is trapped with and its connection to a dark time in the history of the Guardians of the Universe. A dark history that could hold the key to John’s mission to escape.
While John works with the rebels to continue fighting the forces of the dark star, the Queen herself decides to send her agent to kill John’s mother in the constructed reality John has made for her. At the same time, John makes a dangerous decision to confront the Queen herself in her place of power.
The Story: Phillip Kennedy Johnson continues to craft an entertaining story for John in this issue. The two stories complement each other beautifully and I continue to enjoy the tension with the Revenant Queen going after John’s mother. The story has some great action throughout and I love the lore it continues to unveil as John prepares to take on the power that threatens him.
The Art: Montos crafts some beautiful art throughout the issue. The visuals are exciting and brilliantly capture the tension and suspense of the tory.
