The Rundown: John Stewart goes hunting for his new enemy and finds himself the target of the Corps.
John continues to investigate the Radiant Dead and begins to see what they are doing to the planet. With his new ring and power in hand, he has a final meeting with Steel and discovers something disturbing about his mother’s condition. Something that will require him to create something to both protect her physically, but also emotionally.
After taking off to the jungle to look for clues, John and his new partner find themselves surrounded by Lanterns from the United Planets. Unfortunately, the threat of the new Lanterns pales in comparison to the emergence of the Revenant Queen.
The Story: Johnson delivers some fantastic action and thrills throughout the issue. The story is dark, compelling and engaging throughout. There are some great moments of suspense as well as a darkly sweet moment between John and his mother. I really love the direction of this series and how personal it feels for the character.
The Art: Montos’ art is as visually compelling as the story. The characters and world they inhabit looks amazing and allows for some dark imagery throughout.
