The Rundown: John Stewart travels to Metropolis for an opportunity, but trouble follows him there.
John Stewart and his mother travel to Metropolis to meet with Steel about a project he needs help with. A project that could get John and his mother to move to the city. While they discuss the move, the train they’re on gets attacked by the transformed Green Lanterns.
John fights back to protect his mother, but one of the transformed attacks him with the power of the Revenant Queen leaving the Green Lantern with an infection that could destroy everything.
The Story: A thrilling, exciting and engaging evolution of John Stewart and his story. The story is filled with great action and thrills. I love seeing John grow throughout this series. The moments with him and his mother are fantastic and I love seeing him move towards a new normal for himself. I also liked the dark tone of the story and where it leaves John at the end of the issue.
The Art: Montos delivers some fantastic art throughout the issue. The art is beautifully detailed and filled with engaging and brilliant imagery.
