The Rundown: In the wake of a devastating attack, the Lanterns suffer a loss and the Corps itself makes some radical changes.
The perpetrators behind the attack on Oa have been captured and the Corps itself has been welcomed into the United Planets. Unfortunately, that means changes to the way the Lanterns operate in the galaxy and the Guardians are not subtle in how they implement those changes. Several Lanterns find their assignments changed and the Lanterns of Earth find themselves spread out all over the galaxy.
In the aftermath of the news, John Stewart speaks to the remaining Guardians about what they just did and is told the reasons behind the changes as well as what his new role in the Corps will be. As he heads off to a new mission, an event on Oa devastates the planet, its inhabitants and Lanterns all over the universe. An event that one lone Lantern might be the only one with the power to stop.
The Story: Thorne crafts a great story with huge stakes for the characters. The plot is a great slow build to the devastating cliffhanger and the return of a great character. I’m interested in seeing how this character interacts with the rest of the Corps and the way the story is written, I am intrigued with that will happen with all the characters and their mission.
The Art: Soy and Santucci delivers some great visuals throughout the issue. The art in the issue is fantastic and filled with beautiful details.
