The Rundown: An island filled with older women finds their society changed by a new arrival.

Older women have been deemed useless by society and are abandoned to an island to fight to the death. The women have managed to create a functioning society on the island, but the threats from the outside continue to grow and their leader Rosie patrols the island looking for incoming threats as the others deal with a terrible winter that has decimated their supplies.
When Rosie sees a boat traveling across the island, she springs into action to see what could be coming. While the other women on the island debate their circumstances and their current leadership, Rosie arrives with something that could change everything on the island.
The Story: Williams crafts an interesting premise in this first issue. The characters are interesting and the world being created is intriguing both in its location and social dynamics. I really liked the buildup of tension throughout the story as I learned more about the characters and everything culminates in an interesting and compelling reveal that makes me intrigued to see what happens next.
The Art: Knight creates some beautifully detailed and stylish art throughout the issue. I really love the character designs and how the visuals capture the tone and mood of the story.
