The Rundown: Four stories chronicle the giant creature’s invasion of the Windy City.

Godzilla Does Chicago

A Fan Man who is down on his luck decides that the best way to get back into the good graces of the city is to utilize his position and Mechagodzilla to save Chicago. Unfortunately, the real Godzilla sees the mech and decides to attack.

A fun, funny and wonderfully tragic story. I love the character and the progression of his story as well as the wonderful art style.

Blue Line Sign

Jessie is an Engineering student taking the train when she sees Cameron, a man she went to school with and had a huge crush on. As she contemplates whether to speak with him, there is news coming in of seismic activity. When the train returns to the surface, Jessie and Cameron find themselves faced with Godzilla and trying to find a way to escape.

I really enjoyed the different types of tension in this story and it comes to a cute and engaging conclusion with fantastic art throughout.

Chi Godzilla

When the city discovers that Godzilla is heading their way, a local alderman makes a suggestion that will move the creature away from the city to an area where it can recharge. A suggestion one of his constituents knows is based in corruption leaving him to come up with a new plan for the creature as well as a lesson for the alderman.

I really loved this story as a former Chicago resident who knows the city’s dubious politics. It has some fun and compelling moments throughout and I really enjoyed the art.

Godzilla Versus Chicago

Godzilla lands in the Windy City and its rampage will be devastating unless an intrepid young woman fueled by a strange energy drink can find a way to stop the creature in its tracks by giving it a new target.

A fun and funny story that is a wonderful and light conclusion to this issue.
