Ghostrunner
All In! Games and 505 Games
Nintendo Switch
Ascend Dharma Tower to discover the truth behind a cataclysm that nearly wiped out humanity. Utilize the Ghostrunner’s unprecedented agility to run on walls and defy gravity. Wield a monomolecular katana to cleave through anyone or anything foolish enough to stand in the way.
Graphics
Ghostrunner has some really well defined and in depth graphics for the Nintendo Switch. Even for a first person style game, there is some great depth of field and variations in the stages. I’m not a huge fan of first person games, but the style of this game and the steampunk elements of the story lend themselves well to the more immersive graphic experience this game provides.
Gameplay
To say that there is a learning curve to the game would be an understatement. The first person point of view and gameplay ask for the player to maneuver some pretty intense and well timed long jumps. While the graphics does well to compensate, there are several points in the game where you will fall to your death or have no clear indication where you are supposed to either jump or land. Once you get into a rhythm, these things become easier, but the journey to get to that rhythm can be annoying.
Replayability
The game has an interesting story and great graphics that lead to a compelling desire to keep playing. While the gameplay can be a hindrance at first, once you get a feel for the controls and the gameplay environments, the game is enjoyable and worth playing through.
