The Rundown: While Chloe finds herself in custody, her dead sister discovers the truth within the ghostbox.
After her sister is murdered in front of her and the creature that did it killed by something supernatural, Chloe goes on the run while her sister’s spirit is transported into the ghostbox and too another world filled with spirits of those who also died near the device. Chloe finds police who return to the crime scene and not finding evidence to clear her, arrest Chloe and bring her and the ghostbox to their station.
In the box itself, Jan meets more spirits and she discovers that there is a literal angel in the device. An angel that will help them retrieve the box and hopefully save Chloe as the forces of darkness plan on their own and release a demon to get the box for themselves.
The Story: Carey crafts a complex and engaging story in this follow up issue. The world of it expands in some unexpected and interesting ways that grabbed my attention. Everything inside the Ghostbox made me excited to explore and the story has a wonderful sense of tension as things grow tense in different ways for both Chloe and Jan. I was immersed in the dark tone of this story as well as the suspense as Chloe’s fate became more uncertain with every passing moment.
The Art: Raimondi delivers beautiful art throughout the issue. The visuals brilliantly capture the suspense, terror and wonder of the world of this story especially inside the Ghostbox. I was mesmerized by it and want to see more.
