Wonder Woman 2 director and DC Entertainment president Geoff Johns have teased fans with news regarding the upcoming sequel to Wonder Woman.
According to reports in Variety and The Hollywood Reporter, Johns took to his Facebook page to tease fans with information confirming that the sequel to Wonder Woman will take place in the 1980’s, specifically the year 1984 during the height of the Cold War.
The first film took place in the year 1917 during World War I and the new film will feature new characters to the franchise including Kristen Wiig (The Martian) as the villain Cheetah and Pedro Pascal (Narcos) in an undisclosed role. The screenplay for the highly anticipated sequel was written by Patty Jenkins, Geoff Johns and Dave Callaham.
Warner Brothers will be releasing their next DC Films movie Aquaman December 21st and Shazam will follow April 5, 2019.
Wonder Woman 2 is scheduled for release November 1, 2019.
