The Rundown: The Science Ninja Team’s break turns into a swashbuckling adventure.

After their last mission, the Science Ninja Team is given some much needed rest and relaxation. As they head to the beach for a picnic, they discover that Jinpei didn’t pack any food. Instead, he packed a map he discovered at an antique shop that could lead the team to buried pirate treasure.

As they follow the clues and discover a hidden cave, Jinpei daydreams about the team fighting pirate versions of Galactor as they discover some real traps on their trip to the treasure. Traps that will put the team to the test as their treasure hunt becomes dangerous.

The Story: Bunn crafts a fun and entertaining story in this issue. I love that it takes a break from the bigger action to concentrate on the character relationships. There are a series of fun exchanges as well as great backstory with fun and exciting action throughout the story. This is a great side story that expands the world of these characters in a fun and interesting way.

The Art: Qualano delivers some fantastic art throughout the story. I love the visual style of this series and the beautifully detailed pages and panels.
