The Rundown: Hudson and the gargoyles engage in battle, but they will also suffer losses.

The battle has begun and Hudson leads his gargoyles against the enemy forces. As the battle rages, Goliath and some of the others continue to stay out of the fray while the humans they are aligned with take the advantage.

Things take some dramatic turns when the enemy employs a mage to help them and the gargoyles and humans find themselves vulnerable. As another mage helps to turn the tide, the battle takes a dramatic personal turn for Hudson when his love is wounded and his daughter is taken by the enemy.

The Story: The action in this issue is spectacular. Weisman does a brilliant job of broadening the world of these characters and one of the reveals in the issue was a fantastic surprise. I love the rising tension throughout the issue and how it shows how the gargoyles are not immortal creatures. They are vulnerable and the story gives Hudson some fantastic emotional moments.

The Art: Moss delivers some fantastic art throughout the issue. The visuals are fun and beautifully deliver on the action and tension of the story.
