Stephen King adaptations continue to make their way to the big and small screens and now it looks like FX is going to be bringing one of the horror masters classic characters back for a limited series.
According to a report in Deadline, FX is looking to bring the adventures of telekinetic teen Carrie White back to the screen with a limited series. Collider was first to report the story and Deadline is confirming, but there is currently no writer attached to the production.
Carrie was Stephen King’s first published novel back in 1974 and tells the story of bullied teen Carrie White who discovers that she has telekinetic powers after experiencing her first period. When one of the girls who bullies Carrie seeks revenge at the school dance, all hell breaks loose.
This isn’t the first time Carrie has been brought to the screen either. The first film adaptation of the King story was done by Brian De Palma in 1976 and starred Sissy Spacek and Piper Laurie. A sequel to the first film was released in 1999. Between then, both a television movie and Broadway musical based on the book were released in the 80’s. Most recently, another film adaptation of the story was released in 2013 starring Chloe Grace Moretz and Julianne Moore.
