Deron GenerallyY: The Last Man has been in development in some form or another for years and now it is finally on track to becoming a live action series on FX. The cable channel has announced the principal cast of the series itself and I want to know what you think.
Y: The Last Man was created by Brian K Vaughn and Pia Guerra. It tells the story of a a post apocalyptic world where every living organism with a Y chromosome has died. The world is in chaos as all males die at the same time around the world. The only two surviving males are amatuer escape artist Yorick Brown and his pet capuchin monkey Ampersand. Yorick’s mother, a US senator, sends a covert agent on a mission to protect her son and deliver him to a doctor that can determine why he survived.
Barry Keoghan will play Yorick Brown. Keoghan is known for his roles in movies like Dunkirk, The Killing of A Sacred Deer and the upcoming American Animals.
Diane Lane has been cast in the role of Yorick’s mother Senator Jennifer Brown. Lane is known for her roles in films like Justice League, Inside Out and Under the Tuscan Sun.
Imogen Poots will take on the role of Yorick’s older sister Hero Brown. Poots is known for her roles in films like 28 Weeks Later, Fright Night, Green Room and I Kill Giants.
Lashana Lynch has been brought in to play the role of the mysterious Agent 355, tasked with protecting Yorick Brown. Lynch is known for her roles in series like Crims and Bulletproof. She will also be featured in the upcoming Captain Marvel film.
