The Rundown: Two more tales of the new dark city of Gotham and how its protectors are the ones in danger.
Bruce Wayne recalls the night he died and how the Magistrate put together the pieces that led to him being attacked in an alley. Two years later, Bruce continues to fight against the Magistrate from the shadows as he investigates who is behind everything. As his circumstances and life have been altered by his status of being dead, Bruce Wayne takes to the streets in a new way with limited resources, but a determination to learn the truth. Unfortunately, what he finds will make his life a lot more difficult.
Jason Todd has a found a way to live in the new society the Magistrate has created and that life includes working for the police bringing in masked vigilantes. Unfortunately, he’s not the only one out there and his latest mission to find out who’s in charge of the new Red Hood Gang will have him team with Rose Wilson aka Ravager to find the outlaws. What they find instead is a bigger mystery. One that might put them at odds.
The Story: Tamaki crafts a compelling mystery for Bruce Wayne in this issue. The story continues to evolve as the the reader becomes immersed in the darkness of the city and Bruce’s new circumstances. The Red Hood story is interesting as well. Even though Jason seems almost devoid of personality, there is an interesting dynamic in the story between him, his new mission and the people that surround him.
The Art: Dan Mora delivers some awesome art in this issue. The details ae beautiful and the character designs are fantastic. Giannis Milonogiannis delivers some great action in the Red Hood story.
