The Rundown: A fixer with a unique clientele finds himself in the middle of a mystery.
There is a dark underbelly in Hollywood and this one includes vampires, werewolves and other monsters. When they inevitably do something that could get them exposed, they call Freddie the Fix to clean up their messes.
When Freddie is called in by a powerful agent to deal with the unexplained death of the boogeyman, Freddie finds himself in the middle of a mystery that will bring him to the wrong side of the monsters he protects while trying to get to the truth of what happened.
The Story: Ennis delivers a fantastic story in this one shot. The characters are vibrant and brilliantly complex. Ennis creates a fascinating world in this one shot and it hits the ground running from the first page with a stylish detective story with some great twists and turns that kept me engaged with every character, situation and reveal. A truly impressive story that immediately makes me want to revisit the world of these characters again after finishing it.
The Art: Perkins offers some fantastic art throughout the issue. The art beautifully captures the tone of the story while also delivering beautifully detailed characters and environments that capture the eye and the imagination.
