The Rundown: A young boy discovers the creation of a monster.

A young boy visits the cemetery to speak to his recently deceased father and discovers that there are two men digging up the graves. After following the pair, he discovers a hidden lab and a strange experiment being conducted.

After discovering a possible connection to his father, the young boy decides to hide in the shadows while the doctor and his assistant continue their experiment. An experiment that will create something new and possibly horrifying for everyone.

The Story: Walsh creates a great first issue by taking the classic story and telling it from a unique and unexpected point of view. There is a wonderful buildup of suspense throughout the story and it creates some great moments that drew me in a reader. The story is wonderfully engaging and is a great slow burn of terror that pays off in some unexpected and interesting ways. I look forward to seeing what happens next.

The Art: Walsh delivers fantastic art throughout the issue as well as perfectly capturing the emotion of a moment in several of the panels.
