With Captain Marvel dominating the box office and the upcoming Avengers Endgame set to wrap up this current iteration of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the next phase of the MCU is gearing up with new films including the long-awaited Black Widow solo film.
According to Deadline, Marvel is in talks with actress Florence Pugh to come on board the Black Widow film opposite Scarlett Johansson. Details of the film are being kept under wraps so there is no current speculation on who Pugh who could be playing. Cate Shortland has come on to direct the film, which will be the second female-fronted MCU film after this year’s Captain Marvel.
Florence Pugh is currently starring in the film FIghting With My Family and is known for her roles in films like The Little Drummer Girl, Midsommar and will starring opposite Saoirse Ronan, Emma Watson and Meryl Streep in Greta Gerwig’s adaptation of Little Women.
