The Rundown: Flash Gordon must escape prison to save Dale Arden from a dangerous plot.
In the aftermath of saving the Earth and stopping Ming the Merciless, Flash Gordon finds himself locked away in an alien prison with no chance of escape.
When another prisoner arrives ranting about a possible assassination attempt on Dale Arden, Flash realizes that he needs to escape and find her. An escape that will lead to a manhunt called for by an unlikely source.
The Story: Adams crafts a fun and thrilling adventure in this first issue. The story is filled with swashbuckling action with a darker tone and interesting stakes for Flash. As a fan of the world of this character, this new adventure raises some compelling questions for the reader as well as surprising and interesting stakes that I look forward to seeing play out.
The Art: Conrad delivers some beautifully detailed art throughout the issue. I love the classic look of the visuals and how it captures the thrilling moments of the story.
