The Rundown: Patch goes on a mission to find his family while the infection begins to take over.
After fighting to defend his family from a rampaging animal, Patch is infected by the disease the other animals are running from. What follows is Patch’s slow and scary descent into the madness of the illness as he is confronted by a vision of Elsie.
As his vision becomes clouded by the infection, he thinks back on the moments he first joined the household as more infected animals challenge him on his journey to find Elsie.
The Story: Fleecs takes the reader on an emotional and interesting journey in this issue. The story is told exclusively from the point of view of Patch as he begins to feel the effects of the infection ravaging the other animals around the woods. It’s a story filled with intense drama, but also a sadness as the reader sees what is happening to Patch as well as his memories of better times with his family. The story delivers a more intimate look at the situation these characters are in and works perfectly to capture the darkness at the center of the story.
The Art: Forstner and Rodriguez delivers beautiful art throughout the issue. I love the point of view and how it engages the reader with gorgeous details throughout the panels.
