The Rundown: A trio of house cats find themselves in a world surrounded by danger.
A housecat named Elsie along with a second from the same home Patch find themselves in the back of an animal control truck speeding through the hills. When the truck accidentally runs off the road killing the humans on board, Elsie and Patch find themselves alone in the woods looking for a third, Lord.
As Elsie looks through the woods, she discovers that there is something wrong with the animals. Something that seems to be growing with every encounter. Something that could already be among them.
The Story: I have been a fan of this creative team since Stray Dogs and this first issue does a fantastic job of bringing me back to that style of story with a tale filled with great characters, action and mystery. I loved the first issue a lot and how its mystery grabbed my attention. I am on board to see what happens next.
The Art: The artists deliver beautifully detailed imagery throughout the issue and I continue to love the Disney-esque style art and how it conflicts with the darkness of the story being told.
