The Rundown: Asami and Macraith fight dangerous creatures as the Butcher seeks them for a specific purpose.

The samurai and the gunslinger attempt to enjoy a rare beautiful vista on the island not knowing that Mohan and his men are hunting for them. As they make their way closer, they are confronted by the Caledonian also knows as the Butcher who asserts the fragile peace between their factions as Mohan demands to know where Asami and Macraith are.
Satisfied with a lie from the Caledonian, Mohan leaves as the warrior sends his scouts out to find the couple and bring them to him for a conversation. As the pair find themselves fighting off dangerous creatures that Macraith’s guns can’t put down, the two are summoned for a meeting where they discover that Mohan has something in his possession that could possibly free them all.
The Story: Duggan crafts a thrilling, intense and engaging story in this issue. The mysteries continue to be compelling and the character dynamics are intriguing as the two characters get closer amidst all the death and danger around them. I like the tension between the two factions and how the samurai and gunslinger are being positioned to play major roles in the events to come. The story continues to be exciting with new layers added to both the characters and their world.
The Art: Brown delivers beautiful art on every page of the issue. I loved the fight in the field of flowers and how it brilliantly contrasts the beauty of the setting with the brutality of the battle.
