The Rundown: Asami and Macraith quickly discover there are bigger dangers than the undead in their new home.
As the nights of battle against the forces of the undead continue, Macraith admires the fighting prowess of Asami while becoming disillusioned with both Mohan’s leadership and the endless repetition of life on the island. A life of violence he had been desperately trying to escape.
As another night of fighting moves forward, Macraith decides to walk away. An act that Mohan decides to punish him for by sending some of his men to find him. As Macraith is attacked, Asami decides to step in and help him.
The Story: Duggan continues to craft interesting characters and dynamics throughout this issue. There is a wonderfully complicated series of issues at play for the characters and every moment with them is engaging to the reader. I love the buildup of action and tension throughout the story both from the lead characters and the specter of Mohan hanging over their heads. It continues to be an intriguing story with interesting characters trapped in compelling and intriguing circumstances.
The Art: Brown delivers some great art throughout the issue. The visuals are incredibly detailed and beautifully rendered to draw in the reader to the emotions of the story.
