The Rundown: The X-Men prepare for a final battle against Orchis while one of their own strives to cut a deal.
The X-Men continue the fight against Orchis and their plans to destroy all mutants as well as humanity. At the same time, Apocalypse returns to Earth and attempts to resurrect Krakoa, but he will require the sacrifice of his new army to attain it. Cyclops faces off against Nimrod and a last-minute rescue might be what they need to turn the tide.
As the mutants attempt to stop Sentinel City from decimating the Earth, one of their own contacts Nimrod with a proposal. A proposal that could save all mutants at the cost of the rest of humanity.
The Story: Duggan continues to craft some interesting and entertaining moments in this issue. The story has some confusing elements that are both engaging and maddening as a fan of the characters. I like the different emotional reactions that each part of the story elicits from the reader and I look forward to seeing what happens after the huge betrayal shown in the issue.
The Art: Werneck and Morales deliver fantastic art throughout the issue. The visuals are beautifully detailed and capture the emotion of the story perfectly.
