The Rundown: The new HYDRA Supreme prepares to take her power as Falcon and Winter Soldier move in to stop her.
Veronica Eden knows that the noose is tightening around her, but she takes the time to call her parents to let her know that she is about to become the next HYDRA Supreme. As she argues with them, she prepares her forces for the next phase of her plan while also getting them ready for the inevitable invasion from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
Both heroes find themselves on the way to stop Eden while also bringing the Natural along for the ride. When they are ambushed by HYDRA forces, it is a fight in the air as they take out the troops before everyone hits the ground. In the aftermath, they meet up with an oddly confident Eden who shows the heroes that she is not without resources.
The Story: Derek Landy crafts a decent cliffhanger in this issue. A lot of the dialogue is great especially when Falcon and Bucky attempt to educate the Captain America worshipping Natural about the truth of who Steve Rogers actually is. While the tone of the story has some fun moments, it tends to veer into the realm of being too light for the subject matter. Landy minimizes the danger of HYDRA to the point where the stakes of the story are greatly reduced. I like some comedy mixed in with the action, but this was a little too much at times.
The Art: Federico Vicentini delivers some impressive imagery in this issue. There is a fun tone to the art that matches the tone of the story. The characters look great and the action is well executed.
