Deron GenerallyMore casting news from Warner Brothers and DC Films as they prepare to begin production on the big screen version of the comic series Birds of Prey.
According to Deadline, actor Ewan McGregor has officially been cast as Roman Sionis aka Black Mask in the upcoming film which will also star Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Huntress, Rosie Perez as Renee Montoya and Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Black Canary. It has also been confirmed by director Cathy Yan that Cassandra Cain will be featured in the film as well.
Black Mask is one of the most dangerous mob bosses in Gotham City and is the leader of the False Face Gang. Black Mask rules the criminal underworld in Gotham, often going to war with his fellow criminals to hold onto power.
Ewan McGregor recently completed playing the lead in the Disney family film Christopher Robin and is currently playing the adult Danny Torrance in the Warner Brother adaptation of Stephen King’s Doctor Sleep.
