Entertainment Weekly has revealed a set of exclusive images of the upcoming finale of the Skywalker story Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
Beyond the new images, it also look like EW is releasing variant covers of the issue that celebrate the enduring legacy of Star Wars and its characters.
Not much is known about the plot of Rise of Skywalker (a fact that increases my desire to see the film opening weekend), but this image suggests that a new mystery will ensnare the remnants of the Resistance as they battle the First Order.
Rey is continuing her Jedi training on a lush planet with a Jedi Training Remote like her mentor Luke. She’s going to need that training with Kylo Ren and the First Order hunting her and her friends.
From the first trailer to the last, the Rise of Skywalker will feature multiple encounters between Kylo Ren and Rey.
This is a new image of Richard E. Grant as the villainous Allegiant General Pryde. How will Pryde factor into the First Order and will he be taking control from General Hux?
The Resistance needs to raise an army to take on and take down the First Order so Poe Dameron, Finn, Rose and everyone else has returned to band the universe together to stop them.
The Resistance will need new allies if they stand a chance against the First Order.
Stormtroopers gather as the threat and influence of Kylo Ren and the rest of the First Order grows across the galaxy.
EW is featuring three covers of this issue celebrating the universe created by George Lucas.
From the prequels to the latest trilogy of films, the EW covers showcase the characters that make up the Star Wars universe.
The next adventure in the Star Wars galaxy comes to theaters this December when Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker opens in theaters December 20th.
