The Rundown: Ernest fights the demon inside him as a bigger threat looms over the town.
Candice confronts Ernest about what is happening to him. When Ernie takes over, Candice fights to get back the man she loves. Unfortunately, Ernie takes over again. Before he can kill Candice, something else catches his attention. At the top of the damn, a detective who was protecting the bikers Ernie killed finds herself outgunned by a powerful man who has decided to kill everyone by blowing the dam.
Ernie finds the detective and decides to step in when he realizes that the man leading them is another demon. As the two fight it out, a familiar face arrives and her presence changes everything for Ernie. As she pits the two demons against each other, a surprise appearance changes the scope of the conflict, but puts her life in danger from someone she loves.
The Story: Lobdell crafts a story that is fun and entertaining. There is some great tension throughout the plot and the action is solid and satisfyingly dark. The humor is perfectly timed and I love the progression of the story from the first moments between Ernie and Candice to the final cliffhanger ending that brings the characters back together again.
The Art: Medel delivers some brutally beautiful art on every page of this issue. The action is visually thrilling and the characters look fantastic.
