The Rundown: Thanos attacks the Deviants and the Eternals look for a means of stopping him.
An invasion of the Deviant’s home will force the Eternals to fight. As Ikaris takes point, Sprite warns Thena that the battle is about to begin. Kingo remains back and Phastos knows that Thanos has come for him and the secret in his head that can stop him. As Sersei heads into the fight, Thanos deploys more of his forces. Thanos rains destruction down on the Deviant home in his bid to either capture or kill Phastos and the Eternals put up the best defense that they can.
Thanos decides to leap into the fray himself as everyone is distracted by the bigger battle. He finds himself confronting Tolau and his art and uses the artist as a way of getting to the Eternals. As Thanos goes after Phastos, Thena must deal with a matter of the heart. One that will lead to tragedy. In the aftermath, the Eternals will have to find a way to stop Thanos. A way that will require access to forbidden knowledge.
The Story: Gillen delivers a thought-provoking and often moving story in this issue. There are some great character moments throughout especially the story between Thena and Tolau. The dark tone of the story continues to be interesting and kept my attention with every twist and turn of the plot.
The Art: Ribic and Valinova deliver some great, intense and beautifully detailed art throughout the issue. The tone of the story is perfectly captured by the art.
