The Rundown: With Vincent gone, Elvira has one last chance to save the world from a vengeful Egyptian god.
The ghost of Vincent Price has been effectively exorcised leaving Elvira alone to deal with the threat of Amunet. As Amunet leaves with the scroll, Elvira and the tour guides who have been helping her discover that the woman is using her new Deathflix show as a means of transmitting her message to resurrect her love. With time running out, Elvira discovers that the film they’ve been looking for might hold the key to stopping the end of the world.
After finding a familiar, if two headed face, Elvira decides to enlist his help in stalling the broadcast as long as she can. At the same time, the tour guides find the film and as the final battle for the fate of the world begins, Elvira helps unlock the powers of a goddess, a familiar face returns and the world is treated to Vincent’s greatest performance to date.
The Story: Avallone brings this arc to a fun, funny and entertaining conclusion. All of the characters are served brilliantly and the humor continues to be one of the biggest draws for Elvira’s adventures. The cadence of the writing and the delivery of the lines make it impossible not to hear Cassandra Peterson’s voice in your head delivering them in her deadpan voice. The story has a great mixture of humor, heart and action fun that makes the finale fun to read.
The Art: Samu delivers some great visuals throughout the issue. There are some great character moments and action beats throughout and the style perfectly captures the energy of the story.
