Elvira, Lovecraft and the demon vying for the Necronomicon all find themselves standing in the presence of Cthulhu itself. As its monstrous form looms over them all, some choice words will cause the Old One to do something unexpected before departing.
With Lovecraft and Elvira alone in the area, the writer makes a play for the book before bringing Elvira before the Old Ones again to appeal to their power. A conversation that will take an unexpected and hilarious twist.
The Story: Avallone brings this arc to a brilliantly hilarious conclusion. All of the dark, humorous moments sprinkled throughout this series and the jabs at Lovecraft himself come to a glorious head during the confrontation with the Old Ones and I loved every moment of it. A truly fun and entertaining story that elevates the character beautifully while also setting up an awesome new arc that I cannot wait to dive into.
The Art: Baal delivers amazing art on every page of the issue. The visuals are brilliantly detailed and filled with engaging imagery.
