The Rundown: Elvira’s final destination will turn into a Cronenberg style nightmare.
Elvira emerges from a teleportation pod during the first date of a certain doctor and his reporter friend. Fortunately for the mistress of the dark, she has entered the scene early enough to prevent the eminent disaster to come. Unfortunately, she’s not the only one trying to enter that world. Another presence pulls her into another horror movie in order to get the remote in order to leave his Videodrome style nightmare and Elvira will end up having to deal with another threat emerging.
Things get more insane when another genre decides to intrude on the proceedings and the chase continues until some unexpected help arrives with the key to sending Elvira back to the real world.
The Story: A fun, funny and entertaining finale that delivers on all of the moments Avallone has created throughout this series. I love the fast pace of the story as well as the fun and frenetic tone of the story. Avallone always injects great humor throughout the issue and I love how wacky and inventive this finale issue is.
The Art: Califano delivers some beautifully detailed art throughout the issue. The visuals are fun, gorgeous and engaging.
