Every season on the CW, the producers have managed to breathe new life into characters from the DC universe that many people have never been introduced to or fans have written off. The upcoming season of CW’s The Flash looks to continue that tradition.
It’s been announced that Ralph Dibney will be making his way to Central City to help Team Flash take on a mystery. For those unfamiliar with the name, Ralph Dibney is the real name of DC Comics superhero the Elongated Man. Elongated Man was created by Carmine Infantino and John Broome as a supporting character for the Flash and he made his first appearance in the Flash comic in 1960. In the comics, Dibney uses deductive reasoning that can rival Batman along with his skills at chemistry and his ability to stretch and shape his body to solve crimes all over the world.
The CW has cast actor Hartley Sawyer to play the hero in the upcoming season of The Flash. Sawyer is a veteran of daytime television with roles on The Young and the Restless as well as guest spots on series like Suburgatory and NCIS: Los Angeles. His version of Dibney has been described as being a “private detective with skills that rival Batman.” He will use his detective skills as well as his powers to help team Flash solve one of its greatest mysteries.
Sawyer will join the team as they take on the main antagonist for season 4: The Thinker.
The Flash will speed its way back for its fourth season October 10, 2017.
