The Rundown: Strange looks for a new position in a new and interesting place.

After losing the mantle of Sorcerer Supreme, Stephen Strange decides to travel to Asgard to seek help from Thor. As he enters the palace to speak with the All-Father, he informs Thor that he would like to take on the mantle of Sorcerer Supreme of Asgard. A task that will require him to speak with Hulda at her tower.

After walking the streets of the city and learning more about its people, Strange is invited to a meeting with the powerful Hulda. As the two discuss Strange’s plan, they are interrupted by Loki who has an idea of his own for how Strange can receive the power he needs for his new role. An idea that will end in blood and suspicion for Stephen Strange.

The Story: Landy crafts an interesting and entertaining story in this first issue. As a fan of Doctor Strange, I wondered what his path would be and this story opens up some interesting and compelling narrative threads to weave. I liked the Loki appearance a lot and the twist at the end of the issue guarantees I am coming back to see what happens next.

The Art: Mango delivers beautiful art in the issue. I love the look of Asgard as well as the character designs. The imagery perfectly captures the tone and mood of the story.
