The Rundown:

Stephen Strange is the new herald of Galactus and while he and Clea work on a solution to remove the creature from the Mystic Realms, Galactus’ hunger grows. Stephen travels deep into the realm to find a suitable dead world that the world eater can consume. His journey is daunting, but successful.

At the same time, Clea attempts to keep Galactus focused as Umar works to find a way to remove him from their realm. The journey back to the planet becomes harder than they anticipated and when they arrive, Strange realizes too late that there are other forces at work with their own plans for Galactus and the creature behind this plan has enlisted help to stop Clea and Umar as well.

The Story:

Mark Waid and Barry Kitson do a really good job of moving this story forward at an entertaining pace. Strange’s journey is a great focus for the reader and the contrast between his first and second trips is handled well by building tension. It culminates in some impressive and surprising reveals that are perfectly suited to both the character and the location where this story takes place. I enjoyed being surprised with the ending and I look forward to seeing where the story goes next.

The Art:

Everything looks amazing. From the characters to the surrealistic backgrounds, everything has a mystical weight to it as the characters move throughout the panels.
