Disney continues to redo their animated library with live action adaptations and there is a new one coming with a newly named director.
According to stories in Deadline and The Hollywood Reporter, Disney has found a director for their live action adaptation of Lady and the Tramp. The original animated film told the story of an upper middle class cocker spaniel named Lady who meets and falls in love with a street-wise mutt named The Tramp. Together, they go on a series of romantic adventures throughout the city culminating in the famous spaghetti eating scene.
The Lady and the Tramp adaptation is one of the big priorities for the studio’s upcoming streaming service and the live action/CGI film is going to be directed by Charlie Bean.
Charlie Bean is the director of last year’s The Lego Ninjago Movie. He is also has a history in animation including Batman: The Animated Series, Ren and Stimpy and Tiny Toon Adventures among others.
No release date has been given at this time.
