The Rundown: With the party split, Isabelle and Chuck venture out on their own to find a new home for the people of Glass Town.
Isabelle is feeling guilty about Ash’s plan and what it meant for the people of Glass Town. Unfortunately, they have been wandering the desert with the survivors and Izzy is doing everything she can to hold them together. A task that is not helped by Chuck being himself.
Chuck decides to be a jerk to her and when she decides to use one of the gods to teach him a lesson, they get more then they bargained for as a visit from an elf queen helps Chuck discover some brutal truths about himself and Izzy and the rest of the survivors find themselves staring down a Titan attack.
The Story: DIE continues to be one of the best written comic stories out there. The characters are layered and interesting. The situations and stakes have a weight to them as you realize what the characters want to get back to. Chuck has a revelation that takes him beyond the realm of comic relief and everything happening with Izzy is something I want to see explored further. This is another great, immersive issue that makes the story engaging.
The Art: Stephanie Hans produces some gorgeous art in this issue. Everything looks amazing and each page is filled with beautiful details.
