The Rundown: Tracy’s investigation into a dangerous killer will lead him down some dark roads.
After finding another body in an alley, Tracy and his team speculate on who the Blank is and what he wants. Tracy decides to pay another visit to Breathless Mahoney at Lips Manlis’ old club and finds himself talking to the new owner about the murders and their connection to Lips. At the same time, Pat and others continue the investigation and learn something new about the killer.
Pat and Tracy discover a possible suspect and head out to confront him. After coming under fire, Tracy gets the drop on them and finds their suspect only to discover that the Blank might have gotten to him first.
The Story: Segura and Moreci continue to craft an entertaining and compelling detective noir in this issue. It has everything from the stoic hero to the beautiful, dangerous femme fatale and it plays into those themes brilliantly. The story continues to create great moments of drama for Tracy both with the bad guys and with his own team. I like how Segura and Moreci are balancing and exploring this world and look forward to seeing more.
The Art: Borges delivers fantastic art throughout the issue. I love the use of shadow and how the art captures the dark tone of the story.
