The Rundown: An old friend of Tracy finds himself in the middle of his investigation.
There’s a new construction site working outside the city and a man goes looking for work as well as answers. Unfortunately, the site is a front for organized crime and the man known as Pat Patton doesn’t get the answers he seeks, but does find a familiar face in the crowd. One that he decides to pay a visit to.
Across town, Dick Tracy continues to deal with the nightmares of his time at war after his only witness is taken into protective custody and he’s ordered to go home. After running into Pat at the precinct, the two discuss the case while Mumbles gets an unexpected visit from Flattop and his boss Lips Manlis prepares for war.
The Story: Segura and Moreci craft an engaging and entertaining crime thriller in this issue. Not only are there great moments for the characters, but interesting backstory that ties them together. The story does a great job of expanding on the lore and the characters as well as their pasts and you get the sense of a full world worth exploring. I look forward to seeing where this story goes next.
The Art: Borges delivers some beautiful art throughout the issue. Not only do the characters look great, but the environments including the city are wonderfully detailed.
