The Rundown: Batman has returned to Gotham with a new mission and seeking new allies.
A darker, more intense Dark Knight stalks the streets of Gotham with a new mission that will strike at the very heart of the Orgham organization and the hidden reason they have taken over Gotham. A mission that will rely on Gordon being in the chair as Batman makes a series of strategic strikes against the family.
Batman decides to utilize some new allies for his war including someone who could access the frequency being used to control the city as well as Mr. Freeze and the device he created beneath the city. At the same time, another foe of Batman is contacted and tasked with bringing his unique brand of chaos to the city.
The Story: Ram V continues to craft some amazing Batman stories in this series and this issue is no exception. I love the calculated, methodical way Batman moves in this world. Every move has a deliberate motivation behind it and I love that every move only enhances the bigger mystery being crafted. I find myself immersed in this series, these stories and with these characters in a way that I haven’t in a while. There is a dark personal element to this for Bruce and I want to see what he does next in this series.
The Art: Rafaele delivers fantastic and beautifully immersive art throughout the issue. The art is beautifully detailed and enhances the emotional moments of the story while capturing the immersive nature of the world being created.
