The Rundown: Batman battles for the soul of the city, but it might be too late.
After the explosion at the Orgham building, Batman faces Arzen in the reinforced tunnels beneath the building. As Nightwing and the rest of the team rescue bystanders, Arzen’s servant begins to transmit a signal throughout the city telling the citizens how they don’t need the Batman if they want their city to thrive.
As many get caught in the mind altering message, Gordon and others fight to free people from it as Arzen gets the upper hand in their fight and infects Batman with something that could force him to turn to Barbatos for help.
The Story: Ram V continues to craft a dark, entertaining and powerful story for Batman in this arc. There is great tension throughout and a story that is filled with action, suspense and revelations that make me excited to see the direction the story is going in. I love the pacing of the story and how its rising action and tension lead to a suspenseful cliffhanger that leaves me guessing.
The Art: Reis and Sudzuka deliver some beautifully detailed and dramatic art throughout the issue. The visual styles work impressively well together to craft a great looking issue.
