The Rundown: Batman faces the truth about his investigation as it brings him back to a familiar face.
Before Riddler begins his next show he gets a visit from someone connected to Batman. Someone who knows what Riddler has been doing in the city with the information she provided him. At the same time, Batman faces down Caroline Donovan in the aftermath of what she’s done and discovers how all of the citizen criminals found each other. A discovery that will lead back to someone Batman put into a position of power.
After Caroline escapes, Batman goes to confront Riddler, but a call from Caroline forces him to spring into action to rescue her and another hostage. In the aftermath, Batman finds himself in a position where nothing goes right and both his faith and trust are tested.
The Story: Tamaki brings this arc to a satisfactory conclusion. I loved the progression of the story and how interesting it was in its twists. There are some great character moments throughout and I love how it connects to Batman and his mission. Without it being personal, the story and the fallout from it feel personal to the character and I like that.
The Art: Shammas and Reis deliver some beautifully detailed art in the issue. The styles are perfect for this story and its characters. There are some awesome action beats as well.
