The Rundown: The Bat Family works to rescue those trapped in Akrham Tower as a familiar face attempts to take control.
Koyuki Nakano recounts the circumstances that brought her to Arkham Tower as she hides from the aftermath of Psycho Pirate’s actions with the man himself. At the same time, Scarecrow has decided that he and his men will be taking over the tower and he wants to speak with Mayor Nakano himself. With everyone wondering what will happen next, the Bat Family continues their plans to retake the building.
Huntress runs into trouble with both Freeze and another patient before finding Harley Quinn and Chase Meridian. With the security system disabled, Batwoman enters the building while Spoiler finds herself defending some scared staff members. When Scarecrow decides to make an example of one of the members of the family, a last minute rescue and the arrival of another friendly face might be what it takes to turn the tide.
The Story: Tamaki crafts a powerful, fun and exciting ride in this issue. Not only does the tension mount beautifully, but there are some awesome surprise moments throughout that elevate the story to another level. All of the elements of the story work brilliantly and the characters shine on every page. I really love the tone of this story and the darkness of it. I cannot wait to see where it goes next.
The Art: Amancay Nahuelpan delivers some fantastic art in this issue. There are so many great visual moments that enhance the tension and action throughout.
