The Rundown: Wade gets an invite to the big time, but gets sidetracked.
Wade Wilson has been invited to audition for the exclusive assassin guild known as the Atelier. An audition that will consist of him taking out a dangerous, yet familiar, face. Unfortunately, his mission is compromised when he is kidnapped by the Harrower and taken to her lab to be experimented on. With his healing factor, Harrower has decided to use him to help create a new breed of symbiotes loyal to her and not Knull.
When Deadpool decides that isn’t his idea of a first date, he promptly escapes with the symbiote inside him. As he continues his mission to become part of the exclusive assassin group, he is chased by Harrower and her minions and discovers that the thing inside him is itching to get out.
The Story: A clever and entertaining outing for the merc with a mouth. Wong has a way of bringing out the classic Deadpool humor and cadence in the story and I appreciated seeing him with singular interests and a determination towards his own best interest. The Harrower storyline is good, but the character isn’t particularly compelling. I’m interested in seeing what happens next.
The Art: Coccolo brings great visual humor and vibrancy to the story. The art is fun and beautifully detailed.
