The Rundown: Dark Eyes prepares for his biggest score ever.

Years ago, two thieves trick their way into a museum and make off with almost half a billion dollars’ worth of art. In subsequent years, people have speculated where the art went, but Dead Eyes believes that the stolen paintings are still in the city and he has a plan to find them.

Unfortunately, concerns in the real world bring him back as his wife tells him about some shady dealings with someone they tried to help. A situation that will require a violent response from the prolific criminal.

The Story: Duggan crafts a thrilling, entertaining crime story in this first issue. It’s filled with great action and a tone that grabbed my attention from the first few panels. I like this character a lot and was captivated by the deliberateness of his actions while also crafting moments that make me want to learn more about him and his world. I look forward to seeing where this story goes next.

The Art: McCrea delivers beautifully detailed art throughout the issue. The visuals are brilliantly done and perfectly capture the dark tone of the story.
