The Rundown: Constantine has a bold plan that will require some powerful magic and a couple of sacrifices.
At the Tower of Fate, John Constantine has crafted a secret room where he is working on a plan that might change the tide of the battle against the undead. Even Doctor Fate doesn’t know what is in the room and when John enters, he is confronted by Etrigan who has news about the arrival of something that might be even worse than a world filled with zombies.
In order to stop this threat, Constantine enlists the help of the remaining members of the Bat family including Damian, Jason, Cassandra and Ravager to travel to Nanda Parbat. After discovering Deadman and some living monks defending the city against an army of undead, the heroes enter the city where Constantine proceeds to steal a weapon of immense power. Unfortunately, both their trip to Nanda Parbat and their second trip to the Rock of Eternity will require not everyone coming back alive.
The Story: Tom Taylor takes the story to a new and interesting place in this issue. There are new layers of story being developed and those layers present some intriguing new challenges for the characters. Taylor does a great job of keeping Constantine mysterious in both his plan and his motives as well as showing that there are still consequences to everything the heroes are doing. The issue was really exciting and I cannot wait to see where it goes next after the intense cliffhanger.
The Art: Trevor Hairsine does some great work with the art in this issue. The characters are filled with detail and the action is great as well. A really great looking issue filled with intense imagery.
